These are just traditions, some are hindu, some sikhs, some muslims....all have their traditions...just respect each and every tradition and culture...

i have something to say to your question...

first of all i'd have to say YES there is a god!
he isn't visible...he is within all of us...

now my answer: i have seen god everywhere such as with-in people.

My mom has told me REAL stories of people that lived in her pind, here is the story:....
When my mom was a small girl there used to be a man in the pind who had too much power...he would run into people's houses and ask for something he wanted..and the people gave what ever he want to him..because they were scared of him. (i'm gonna skipp so stuff ) after two years all of the villagers were fed up with all of this bullshit, but they didn't want to hurt him, so they would pray and ask god to calm this man down and stop him from ruining peoples lives. GOD LISTENED...about two months later the man was diagnosed with a disease that caused bones of the body to weaken.....soon the man became a handicap and could no longer walk...which meant he could no longer harm people....

this story is an example of god...the man was perfectly healthy and well..but he suddenly got ill...and his illness stopped him from ruling the lives of others...which is exactly what the villagers asked god :)

something else i want to say to everyone is that:

GOD IS A BEING THAT IS IN US TO HELP US FIND SOME STRENGTH...

i believe he can't help us in the following:

  • getting visas to go abroad
  • passing exams
  • getting rich
  • DOING ILLEGAL THINGS
because all of these ^^^^ things are effected on how much effort you put in.

  • Getting a visa (for the right reason), if you have done everything right, (NOTHING DUPLICATE), then you should have confidence in suceeding.
  • If you studied for a exam OBVIOUSLY you are going to do well. If you didn't study, and before they exam you say: "wahe guru menu pass kara di" "wahe guru" can't 'send' you all of the answers for the exam??????
  • if you work hard and earn all of your money, then you will progress... IF YOU sell drugs, smuggle, steal...then one day you will get caught and YOUR PARENTS will be embarrassed to go out in public because of YOU!
  • i know for a fact that doing illegal things in punjab is common....when you do something right, you know that you don't have to be afraid of anyone. But when you have illegal papers, you always have to be a bit careful.....:(
MY DAD ALWAYS SAYS THIS to me:

Jina kand payo ga oyna gur bannu ga-how ever much sugar you put in thats how much gur you will get.

by this he means: the more effort you put in, the more of a reward you will get! :so
