B.ED entrance paper in UP leaked, exam cancelled

Test papers of the combined entrance exam for admission in B.ED course in UP were leaked in Farukkhabad district following which the exam scheduled for Wednesday, has been cancelled, official sources said.

More than 6.5 lakh aspirants were to appear in the entrance examination being conducted by Lucknow University.

The decision to cancel the B.ED. entrance examination was taken by the Lucknow University during an emergent meeting late on Tuesday night after it was found that test papers were leaked in Farukkhabad. The meeting was also attended by senior police officers.

The step was taken after police recovered two sets of A series of general knowledge and English question papers of the examination in Farrukhabad.

"During examination question papers recovered in Farukkhabad matched with the original ones," the sources said.

"Fresh dates would be announced after consulting the state government," they said.

Apprehending protests by aspirants, adequate security arrangements have been made across the state, the sources said.
