HC notices Punjab on leakage of question paper

Justice Permod Kohli of Punjab and Haryana High Court issued notice to Punjab Government in connection with the alleged leakage of the question paper of the written test held by Punjabi University for the post of Public relation officer.

The petition was filed by Gurmit Singh Sran of Faridkot and some other candidates alleging that the question paper of the written test was conducted by the Punjabi University, Patiala on July 4 last year had been leaked to some of the candidates before the exam was to be started. The complainant alleged that the paper was leaked at 9 am in while the written examination started at 10 am on that day.

It was also alleged that the candidates on July 10 also met the Information & Public Relations Minister Sewa Singh Sekhwan, who had ordered enquiry into the matter and stayed the declaration of result of the test while the Government has however suddenly declared the result in November last year. The petitioners also plead the court to direct the Government to cancel the said written test, and not to proceed further for starting interview process.
