The Gurus are the common heritage of the humanity. People of all religions go to Gurudwaras and bow in front of Guru Granth Sahib. Then to say that Sikhism is a separate religion, is not correct. This will defeat the great wisdom and sayings of Gurus. I, and I am sure millions of other Hindus, have extreme respect for Gurus who sacrificed their lives for the safety of Hindus.

There are a lots of traditions of India which are followed by Hindus and Sikhs - and also by Muslims. Most traditions can be defined as superstitions because they are not prescribed by science. But there may be indirect benefits which cannot be argued out to be most perfect. Individuals can take their own decision in this regard. There is no compulsion. If a woman (and even man) fasts - as an affirmation of love for each other, and since it is known that fasting does help in maintaining health, what is the harm. No where Gurus have banned following of traditions of other religions. In fact Sikhism is one open religion which does not discriminate between one human and other. Anyone can go to gurudwaras, participate in activities, have prasad and langar. Sikhs are always there to help victims of natural or man-made tragedies. We have a lot to learn from Gurus.
