TARLOCHAN SINGH ASKS STUDENTS TO DEVELOP DRUG FREE ENVIRONMENT

Fatehgarh Sahib November 21:

Sri Kesgarh Sahib Giani Tarlochan Singh Jathedar asked the students of Mata Gujri College to develop a drug free environment in the State. He said that drug abuse had become a major problem in the country which was spoiling the lives of young generation.

Speaking at a seminar organised at the college, Principal Jatinder Singh Sidhu said that institutionalised mechanism with legal, social, administrative and medical support was required to combat the menace. He added that the students force is a strong weapon to defeat the menace of drugs. Later, talking to the media, Giani Tarlochan Singh said that after listening to the CD of the objectionable discourse of Prof Darshan Singh, the five priests would take the decision.

Replying to a question regarding objections raised by Prof Darshan Singh, he said that he was a former Jathedar of Akal Takht and he should behave like a true Sikh dedicated to the Takht instead of raising unnecessary controversies.

He further said that as Jathedar of the Takht, he himself along with other high priests had taken many decisions in the closed room with them and now was insisting now that his case should be heard in the open. The Jathedar said that Prof Darshan Singh should have patience instead of provoking people.
