Royal families from Himachal, Rajasthan and Jammu and Kashmir have started reaching New Moti Bagh Palace here to attend the funeral of Mohinder Kaur, mother of Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh.
The procession will start at 1 pm from New Moti Bagh Palace.
Amarinder and brother Malwinder Singh were seen spending time with other royal scions of Patiala.
Meanwhile, workers have started reaching the palace to pay their respects to the Rajmata.
Former chief minister Parkash Singh Badal and state cabinet ministers, both present and former, are expected to join the procession.
Close friends of Amarinder from the Army days, including Major AP Singh, have reached the palace.
Shahi Samadhan, the resting place of the Patiala royals, has been turned into a fortress. Heavy security has been deployed there.
