Intel has officially announced its 6th generation Intel Core processor family. The 6th Gen Intel Skylake is also based on 14 nm architecture, similar to the 5th Gen Broadwell processors, but this has a substantial change in the underlying silicon with new features and design paradigms, according to Intel.
These new processors will also offer enhanced performance and immersive experiences at the lowest power levels for a range of devices such as compute stick, 2 in 1s, All-in-One desktops and new mobile workstations. The 6th Gen Intel Core processors deliver significant improvements in graphics performance to offer stunning visuals for gaming as well as compelling 4K content creation and media playback, said the company.
Intel Core M processors now has new brand levels – Intel Core m3, m5 and m7 to complement the i3, i5 and i7 already used on Intel’s more powerful processors. The Intel Compute Stick lineup expands to include a version powered by the 6th Gen Intel Core M processor.
This new generation of Intel processors includes a mobile “K” SKU that is unlocked to enable overclocking with even more user control, a new quad-core Intel Core i5 processor that offers up to 60% improved mobile multitasking, and the Intel Xeon E3 processor family for mobile workstations.

New range of 6th Gen Intel Core processor family and Intel Xeon processors for mobile workstations includes 48 new processors:

  • Five 4.5W Intel Core Y-series processors for small-screen 2 in 1 detachables and 2 in 1 convertibles.
  • Ten 15W and four 28W Intel Core U-series processors for 2 in 1 convertibles and ultra-thin clamshells.
  • Six 45W Intel Core H-series processors for thin clamshells and large-screen notebooks.
  • One 45W Intel Core H-series unlocked mobile K SKU for enthusiast notebooks.
  • Two 45W Intel Xeon processors for mobile workstations.
  • Ten 65W and eight 35W Intel Core S-series processors for gaming towers, stationary All-in-Ones, and mini PCs.
  • Two 91W desktop Intel Core S-series processors for overclockers and gaming enthusiasts.
Products based on new 6th Gen Intel Core processor family have started rolling out, with many more coming over the next few months. Intel Xeon and Intel Pentium processors will be available later this year, Intel Core m5 vPro and Intel Core m7 vPro, as well as Intel Celeron processors will be available early next year.

At present both i5 & i7 unlocked SKU's are available in India, courtesy of Amazon. Yippee...

Core i5 6600K

Core i7 6700K

Statistically speaking, this line is quantum leaps ahead from first gen "i" Series that once laid the foundation for new lithography process. Very soon Moore's law is going to be contradicted by the barriers as imposed in the die structuring.
Let's see how Intel rakes up against this. :)

Veer Ji! Main LED/Projector waali light te ni paa sakda kyunki agar main light paa ti te tuhanu samjhana te mainu explain karna bada aukha ho jau. :p

Saade lafzan ch boliye te Jedi strategy Intel apni nave processor release cycle nu le k ikhtiyaar kar rehya c woh standard users de layi maayne nahi rakhdi.
Har saal intel jo bhi processor release karda usdi manufacturing process change ho jaandi jisda seedha impact performance increase hone te lag rehya.

J tussi Intel dual core use karde ho te koi bhi ehdan di application naal rubaru nahi honde jisda processor power naal seedha raah hove te nave processor di lod nahi. But j tussi processor intensive applications/project naal Jude ho te jinna badd processor da performance hovega unni jaldi output te jyada productivity hovegi.
Jeda syatem kaam 6 ghante ch karda agar wohi kaam 2-3 ghante ch ho jaave te mauja he mauja :p

J bande da productivity naal koi sarokaar nahi hega Matlab jede users jina da kaam sirf net surf karna/gaane sunana te chotiyan motiyan application use karan naal hega woh high end system da ki karuge?

Chalo main tuhanu ik example dinda, jede javak BPO ch kaam karde ne unha da mostly kaam sirf yaa te call receive karna hunda ya fer data update karna. Agar ik system celeron processor naal saariyan applications jehdiyan utthe use hondia c aasaani naal handle kar lenda te fer high end system laga k koi faayda nahi hovega. Company nu bina Matlab da hardware update karna da kharcha pau.
Mann lo agar main calls da he jawaab dena te Nokia 222 jyada sokha te budget friendly option hega instead ki appan unha nu S6 fadaa deyiye? :p

Seedhi jehi gaal hai agar kisi nu lod nahi hegi te seedha formula apnao : Aan do te Jaan do, saanu ki.... :p

PS : meri Punjabi badi kharaab hai te main tuhanu iss to easy tareeke naal kiven samjhawan uppar te topic bhi inna peculiar hega ki DC di Range Rover di yaad aa jandi. Kitthe 1985 di Maruti te kitte 2000+ di Range Rover? :hassa
Ik sarokaar eh bhi hega manya Maruti 2.5 lakh di c but isda Matlab eh bhi nahi hega ki Range Rover da performance 1crore guna jyada hovega kyunki eh jyada mehangi aa.... :teelo

Intel da ta business hai new technology nu bada chada k dasna te paise kamauna, eh te end user nu dekhna paunda ki woh dubna chaunda k tairna... :bony
