Former MLA Rakesh Pathania has alleged that a number of announcements made by Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh yesterday here are nothing but a political gimmick.
Addressing a press conference here today, he said the announcements, made by him during his last year’s winter sojourn, had failed to take shape.
The Chief Minister had announced 15 village link roads last year but neither administrative approval was granted, nor any fund provisions had been made by the government. He had announced government college building and a veterinary dispensary in Nurpur but all remained on the paper, he said.
Former MLA Rakesh Pathania said the Chief Minister had announced a bus stand at Nurpur but the land, which was transferred to the Transport Department in July 2012 during the Dhumal government had been given back to the Revenue Department in 2014.
Pathania said ‘bhoomi pujan’ for upgrading the existing Nurpur-Sanjinullah-Tunuhatti road by him on Wednesday was misleading. The Chief Minister had laid stone of a stadium here twice in 1991 and 1993 but nothing had been done.
Pathania said the Chief Minister’s announcements were only to fool people of the area. The state government had failed to provide building, requisite infrastructure and teaching staff in the upgraded government schools but yesterday again the CM announced upgrade of a number of schools to earn public applause.
