Mumbai: As Anna Hazare's fast against corruption gained support across the city, students at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bombay held a candle light march yesterday to support the campaign.

Exhorting students to support Hazare, IIT undergraduate Yograj Patel said, "It is no secret we eat and breathe corruption day and night. Therefore, as one of the most intellectual communities in India it is our duty and obligation to act, instead of just watching the action. We owe him our wholehearted support."

The candle-light march was held from 7 pm. Today the students plan to skip dinner and then gather for an interactive session on the Jan Lokpal Bill and India Against Corruption (IAC) campaign.

Students have also been asked to wear black ribbons until the government accepts Hazare's demand.

Hazare's campaign has caught the imagination of Mumbai's youth who have been using social media to take on the government. Social networking sites have been supporting Hazare and some netizens have organised Black Monday on April 11. People have been requested to wear black as a show of support.

Meanwhile, more protesters are gathering at Azad Maidan and a ‘jai baro andolan' (fill up jails movement) has been planned for Tuesday. Protesters now want to come out on the streets but police are not allowing them out of the playground.
