Trivia: In 1998, Khan was charged with poaching two blackbucks in Rajasthan, India, during the filming of Hum Saath-Saath Hain along with his co-stars. The charges were dropped soon after Khan was acquitted.

Biography: Saif Ali Khan is royalty, living life king size. He’s the brat we eyed with indulgence as he played ‘actor-actor’ until he did a complete turnaround post Dil Chahta Hai (2001). From then, there’s no looking back for the suave actor as he juggles a revived career and his lady love, Kareena Kapoor.

Saif Ali Khan was born in New Delhi, India. His father, Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi, was the Nawab of Pataudi and a former captain of the Indian cricket team. His mother Sharmila Tagore is an acclaimed Bollywood actress. Saif has two sisters, Saba and Soha. Soha also acts in Bollywood films.

Saif Ali Khan studied at the Lawrence School, Sanawar, and the Locker’s Park Prep School. His college years were spent in his father’s alma mater, Winchester College, UK.

Khan made his acting debut in 1992 with Parampara. In 1993, he starred in Aashiq Awara but his breakthrough role came in 1994 with Yeh Dillagi, where he starred opposite Kajol and Akshay Kumar. The film was Saif’s first major hit.He then went on to star as the leading man in many films which, unfortunately, could not repeat the magic at the box-office. He only had success with multi-starrers like Main Khiladi Tu Anari (1994), Imtihaan (1995), Kachche Dhaage (1999) and Hum Saath-Saath Hain (1999). He also had a hit in Kya Kehna! (2000), he starred opposite Preity Zinta in this film.

His acting career, more or less, went through a relative slump until 2001, when he was cast in Farhan Akhtar’s contemporary drama Dil Chahta Hai. He received much acclaim for his role. The success of this film firmly also established Saif as a name to reckon with in Bollywood.

Saif has, since then, had many box office successes, starting with Nikhil Advani’s drama, Kal Ho Na Ho (2003) with Shah Rukh Khan. His first hit as a leading man came with Kunal Kohli’s Hum Tum opposite Rani Mukerji in 2004. This was also his first movie with Yash Raj Films. In the same year Saif also played a negative character in Ek Hasina Thi.

Each of his four releases in 2005 and 2006 – Parineeta, Salaam Namaste, Being Cyrus and Omkara – had Saif pushing the envelope as an actor. Being Cyrus was a critically acclaimed English language film. Vishal Bhardwaj’s Omkara was an adaptation of Shakespeare’s Othello and Saif’s performance as ‘Langda Tyagi’ was phenomenal. This role earned Saif a Filmfare Award for Best Performance in a Negative role category.

Khan next acted in Eklavya: The Royal Guard (2007). The film was India’s official entry to the Oscars, and Khan’s performance as ‘Harshwardhan’ was appreciated by critics. He next appeared alongside Rani Mukerji in the family drama, Ta Ra Rum Pum (2007).

In 2008, Khan first starred in the thriller Race opposite Bipasha Basu. The film went on to do well at the box-office. This was followed by Tashan and Thoda Pyaar Thoda Magic, both the films failed at the box-office. Saif also lent his voice for Yash Raj Films’ animation project, Roadside Romeo.

In 2009, Khan produced and starred in Love Aaj Kal. The film was a commercial success. He then starred in Karan Johar’s thriller Kurbaan along with Kareena Kapoor, in which he played a terrorist. In 2011, Saif was seen in Prakash Jha’s multi-starrer Aarakshan along with Amitabh Bachchan, Manoj Bajpayee and Deepika Padukone.

Saif Ali Khan will be seen opposite Kareena Kapoor in action thriller Agent Vinod. He is currently working on Cocktail, Go Goa Gone and Race 2.

Name: Sunil Shetty (Suniel Shetty)

Birthday: 11th August 1961

Zodiac: Leo

Marital Status: Married to Mana Shetty, has 2 children, Atiya Shetty and Aahan Shetty.

Awards: Filmfare Best Villain Award for his role in the movie Dhadkan

Trivia: He is fondly referred to as “Anna” by his close ones and the film industry people. Sunil owns a cloth boutique named Mischief. He is trained in full contact Kick Boxing and also runs a production company title Popcorn Motion Pictures Limited.

Biography: Sunil Shetty has often stated that he would have been a Cricketer if not a leading Bollywood Hero. He was inclined towards Cricket earlier, but then switched his focus to Bollywood. He made his debut in an action-oriented role in the movie Balwaan. He was paired opposite Divya Bharti in this film and he was pitted against Danny Denzongpa, with whom he would share the screen space umpteen times later in his career.

After Balwaan, another movie named Waqt Hamara Hai followed. Though it wasn’t much appreciated and turned out to be an average grosser, its popularity over the time increased. The movie had him in lead role with Ayesha Jhulka, Mamta Kulkarni and Akshay Kumar. But his performance was actually noticed in the movie Mohra where he essayed the character of Vishal. How a normal person turns into a criminal to eradicate crime from the city, was what formed the crux of Mohra’s story. His action packed performance fetched him many accolades and consolidated his place in the industry. He later tried his hand at Comedy as well with the movie Gopi Kishan, which was well received by the audience. Sunil played a double role in it. Movies like Krodh, Rakshak, and Vinashak gave him a huge fan following back then.

Sunil later gave another soul stirring performance in the JP Dutta directed Border. The movie went on to become an all time Blockbuster and he essayed such patriotic characters further in movies such as Refugee and LOC Kargil (Again directed by JP Dutta). His role in the movie Qayamat: City Under Threat was that of a Modern Patriotic Cop too!

Critics claimed that Sunil could only do action oriented roles and was thus typecast in that Genre. However, over the course of time, he has managed to get huge appreciation for his brilliant comic timing and sense of humour. He turned in memorable performances in movies like Yeh Teraa Ghar Yeh Mera Ghar, which weren’t noticed sadly by the audience.

His most remembered performance arguably came in the movie Hera Pheri. The movie has a cult following associated with itself till date and has been remembered by many owing to the brilliant performances by the lead actors including Shetty. Shetty then gave various comedy hits, often starring in a multiple cast. His movies like Awaara Paagal Deewana, Phir Hera Pheri, Hulchul and De Dana Dan did great business. He worked with director Priyadarshan in various movies later, most turning out to be major hits. Sunil Shetty’s home production movie Bhagam Bhag, was also directed by Priyadarshan and managed to gross big time at the Box Office. He recently won the Best Actor award for his movie Red Alert: The War Within at the SAIFF (South Asia International Film Festival). Apart from Bollywood films, Sunul has also starred in an English film Don’t Stop Dreaming and Tamil movie 12B.

Sunil Shetty has also entered film production. His production has produced movies such as Khel – No Ordinary Game, Rakht: What If You Can See the Future and Bhagam Bhag. His recently released comic caper Loot, which was a multi-starrer failed to generate much buzz at the box office.
