BJP WILL FIGHT "PROXY WAR" BY PAKISTAN: ADVANI
Cuttack April 1:
Terming terror attacks in Mumbai and other parts of the country as "proxy wars" against India by Pakistan, BJP prime ministerial candidate L K Advani said the party would fight such designs of the neighbouring country.
"Pakistan has been waging proxy wars after failing to win any of the wars against India and we're committed to fight it," Mr. Advani said, while addressing a mammoth election rally here. According to him, BJP-ruled states have been successful against Pakistan's "proxy war", and he asked the UPA government at the Centre to take a cue from BJP-ruled states to fight terrorism in the country.
Stating that BJP was ready to fight terrorism and corruption, Mr. Advani said, "former Pakistan presidents like Gen Zia ul-Haq and Gen Pervez Musharraf realised that they could never win a war against India and promoted cross-border terrorism which was visible during the NDA tenure too," he said.
"We told Pakistan authorities under Pervez Musharraf several times to stop such activities. Pakistan seeks to destabilise India by creating disturbances in various parts of the country," Mr. Advani said. Even women, children and elderly people have not been spared by the terrorists engaged in the "proxy war" in the country, he said.
