There is no dress code in Khalsa Colleges, ( main aap khalsa colleges vich padeya so i know )
schools vich hai par colleges vich nahi,

vaise eh ta dasso ke Sikh dress code kehda hunda ?

but just wanna add up one thing, that clothing does change ones thinking, maybe not in case of oders, but certainly it does effect my thinking, to be very frank............

Its not about girls or anything. Guys have to adhere to the dress code as well. I studied in Convent school in Chandigarh and Turban was absolute compulsory for us after 8th standard. I used to complain so much at that time, but now I can understand it was such a good thing to do.

As earlier said even in few higher educational institutes (not in punjab or even related to SGPC), there is strict dress code for girls.

bohat wadhiya post bayee ji, te tuhaadi post to mainu aapna school vi yaad aa geya. i studied in YPS, Patiala, n i think it is among the most modern school in Punjab. even we had to tie turbans, n it was mandatory from class SIXTH onwards. Girls till 10th were to wear skirts n then onwards it was salwar kameez. so if dat dress code exists in college, i don;t think it is dat bad a thing

on the other hand ...mere khyal ch kihra merzi kapda payia hove as long as os noo apni mariyada ch te moke de hisab naal paoo theek lagda..



and jihte ayie gal suit di......tusi ki gurantee naal h sakde ho ?....ki aj kal de fashion de suit da te pata hi aa..kayie suit vi kaafi see through te kaafi bad salie kiti hundi aa....


and main nahi kahendi ki mainu suit paouna pasand nahi or apna paheriva paouna bhul ajyiae

per we should not judge any one from their clothes

bohat wadhiya post kiti aa beeba ji tusi aithe, but my point from the very beginning is not about judging anyone from their dress.
main ehe keh rehaan ke its always better to have a dress code in schools n colleges n one which is not provocative.
i will be lot more uncomfortable sittin in a class wid girls wearin some skin tight jeans n top rather than wid someone wearin a suit.
baaki jehdi thodi gall aa ke u got used to seeing gore in their bikinis or shorts or wotever they wear, its acceptable as we have a mindset of seein those people in dat kind of clothes. but as far as our people r concerned we r not used to. i m pretty sure, dat if u see a desi on a beach in bikini or sumthin, u'll atleast look at her twice, coz dats a bit unimaginable for us, coz its not in our culture wearin those kinda clothes.

hehe I cant stop laughing. Nihang kachera vich hi firde rehanda.. haan uh gal alagh ahi ki unna de kachera, ajkal de shorts ya capri naalo vi jyada lambe hunde.

Dhoti and Kachcherey vich bahut phark hai jee.
Dhoti is an outer wear whereas kachchera is a underwear/innerwear
and dhoti could be worn even to a party, parliament, whitehouse....
everyone wears an innerwear underneath a dhoti.....
nobody wears an innerwear underneath a kachchera because
for the nihangs kachchera is the only-wear.....

Besides even the saree is a dhoti.

Regarding the need to save Indian culture from jeans and skirts
I think the girls who were turned back from college for being too western
should start wearing Saree to college and then enjoy watching those
Punjabi culture-vultures squirm and say "Saree is against Sikhism".
