A TV documentary has exposed the grooming of Sikh children for sexual abuse allegedly by mainly Muslim paedophile gangs.
The BBC's Inside Out will broadcast a 30-minute investigation into the abuse of Sikh girls, following the jailing last week of a grooming gang for a raft of child sex offences.
The Sikh Awareness Society (SAS) said that Sikh families often felt powerless to know how to deal with grooming.
Coordinator Jagjir Singh, 31, said: "Sikhs feel like it's happening and they don't have the resources to deal with it. Also, the police don't have the resources to deal with it."
The SAS identified street grooming as a particular issue within the Pakistani community.
Singh said: "When you are talking about street grooming all the crimes I've seen are involving one community. What is the reason for that? These questions needs to be thrown into the open: why are married men going off with a 15-year-old girl?

Poori aag lagi payi si..But when I look at Gurbani...ਗੁਰੂ ਗ੍ਰੰਥ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਵਿੱਚ ਨਿੰਦਾ ਨੂੰ ਕੁਕਰਮ ਅਤੇ ਭਿਆਨਕ ਆਤਮਕ ਰੋਗ ਦੇ ਰੂਪ ਵਜੋਂ ਦਰਸਾਇਆ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ। ਗੁਰਬਾਣੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਨਿੰਦਾ ਨੂੰ ਪਰਾਈ ਮੈਲ ਨੂੰ ਮੂੰਹ ਵਿੱਚ ਪਾਉਣਾ, ਦੂਜਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਮੈਲ ਧੋਣਾ, ਬਿਨਾਂ ਮਜ਼ਦੂਰੀ ਤੋਂ ਦੂਜਿਆਂ ਦਾ ਭਾਰ ਉਠਾਉਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਮੂਰਖ ਆਖਿਆ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ। ਗੁਰਬਾਣੀ ਦੇ ਨਿਮਨ ਲਿਖਤ ਫ਼ਰਮਾਨਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਇਸ ਭਾਵ ਨੂੰ ਦੇਖਿਆ ਜਾ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ:
(ੳ) ਪਰ ਨਿੰਦਾ ਪਰ ਮਲੁ ਮੁਖ ਸੁਧੀ ਅਗਨਿ ਕ੍ਰੋਧੁ ਚੰਡਾਲੁ॥ (ਪੰਨਾ ੧੫) ਅਰਥ: ਪਰਾਈ ਨਿੰਦਿਆ ਮੇਰੇ ਮੂੰਹ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਮੂਲਚੀ ਪਰਾਈ ਮੈਲ ਹੈ, ਕ੍ਰੋਧ-ਅੱਗ (ਮੇਰੇ ਅੰਦਰ) ਚੰਡਾਲ (ਬਣੀ ਪਈ ਹੈ)।
(ਅ) ਪਰ ਨਿੰਦਾ ਕਰੇ ਅੰਤਰਿ ਮਲੁ ਲਾਏ॥ ਬਾਹਰਿ ਮਲੁ ਧੋਵੈ ਮਨ ਕੀ ਜੂਠਿ ਨ ਜਾਏ॥ (ਪੰਨਾ ੮੮) ਅਰਥ: (ਜੀਵ) ਪਰਾਈ ਨਿੰਦਾ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਮੈਲ ਲਾਈ ਜਾਵੇ, (ਤੇ) ਬਾਹਰੋਂ (ਸਰੀਰ ਦੀ) ਮੈਲ (ਇਸ਼ਨਾਨ ਆਦਿਕ ਨਾਲ) ਧੋਂਦਾ ਰਹੇ, (ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ) ਮਨ ਦੀ ਜੂਠ ਦੂਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੁੰਦੀ।
(ੲ) ਮਨਮੁਖਿ ਅੰਧੇ ਸੁਧਿ ਨ ਕਾਈ॥ ਆਤਮ ਘਾਤੀ ਹੈ ਜਗਤ ਕਸਾਈ॥ ਨਿੰਦਾ ਕਰਿ ਕਰਿ ਬਹੁ ਭਾਰੁ ਉਠਾਵੈ ਬਿਨੁ ਮਜੂਰੀ ਭਾਰੁ ਪਹੁਚਾਵਣਿਆ॥ (ਪੰਨਾ ੧੧੮) ਅਰਥ: ਜੇਹੜਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਆਪਣੇ ਮਨ ਦੇ ਪਿੱਛੇ ਤੁਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਜੇਹੜਾ ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਮੋਹ ਵਿੱਚ ਅੰਨ੍ਹਾ ਹੋਇਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ (ਇਹ ਆਪਾ-ਭਾਵ ਨਿਵਾਰਨ ਦੀ) ਕੋਈ ਸੂਝ ਨਹੀਂ ਪੈਂਦੀ। (ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਉਹ) ਆਪਣਾ ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ (ਭੀ) ਤਬਾਹ ਕਰ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਜਗਤ ਦਾ ਵੈਰੀ (ਭੀ ਬਣਿਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ)। ਉਹ ਹੋਰਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਨਿੰਦਾ ਕਰ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਸਿਰ ਉੱਤੇ (ਵਿਕਾਰਾਂ ਦਾ) ਬਹੁਤ ਭਾਰ ਚੁੱਕੀ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ (ਉਹ ਮਨਮੁਖ ਉਸ ਮਜੂਰ ਵਾਂਗ ਸਮਝੋ ਜੋ) ਭਾੜਾ ਲੈਣ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਹੀ ਦੂਜਿਆਂ ਦਾ ਭਾਰ (ਚੁੱਕ ਚੁੱਕ ਕੇ) ਅਪੜਾਂਦਾ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ।
(ਸ) ਨਿੰਦਕੁ ਨਿੰਦਾ ਕਰਿ ਮਲੁ ਧੋਵੈ ਓਹੁ ਮਲਭਖੁ ਮਾਇਆਧਾਰੀ॥ (ਪੰਨਾ ੫੦੭) ਅਰਥ: ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਨਿੰਦਾ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ (ਦੂਜਿਆਂ ਦੀ) ਨਿੰਦਾ ਕਰ ਕਰ ਕੇ (ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਕੀਤੇ ਮੰਦ-ਕਰਮਾਂ ਦੀ) ਮੈਲ ਤਾਂ ਧੋ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਪਰ ਉਹ ਆਪ ਮਾਇਆ-ਵੇੜ੍ਹਿਆ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਪਰਾਈ ਮੈਲ ਖਾਣ ਦਾ ਆਦੀ ਬਣ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਗੁਰੁਰਗੁਰਬਾਣੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਨਿੰਦਕ ਸਬੰਧੀ ਇਤਨਾ ਹੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਸਗੋਂ ਇੱਥੋਂ ਤੀਕ ਆਖਿਆ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਨਿੰਦਿਆ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਦਾ ਕੋਈ ਵੀ ਧਰਮ ਕਰਮ ਫਲੀਭੂਤ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੁੰਦਾ:
ਜੇ ਓਹੁ ਅਠਸਠਿ ਤੀਰਥ ਨਾੑਵੈ॥ ਜੇ ਓਹੁ ਦੁਆਦਸ ਸਿਲਾ ਪੂਜਾਵੈ॥ ਜੇ ਓਹੁ ਕੂਪ ਤਟਾ ਦੇਵਾਵੈ॥ ਕਰੈ ਨਿੰਦ ਸਭ ਬਿਰਥਾ ਜਾਵੈ॥ ੧॥ ਸਾਧ ਕਾ ਨਿੰਦਕੁ ਕੈਸੇ ਤਰੈ॥ ਸਰਪਰ ਜਾਨਹੁ ਨਰਕ ਹੀ ਪਰੈ॥ ੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ॥ ਜੇ ਓਹੁ ਗ੍ਰਹਨ ਕਰੈ ਕੁਲਖੇਤਿ॥ ਅਰਪੈ ਨਾਰਿ ਸੀਗਾਰ ਸਮੇਤਿ॥ ਸਗਲੀ ਸਿੰਮ੍ਰਿਤਿ ਸ੍ਰਵਨੀ ਸੁਨੈ॥ ਕਰੈ ਨਿੰਦ ਕਵਨੈ ਨਹੀ ਗੁਨੈ॥ ੨॥ ਜੇ ਓਹੁ ਅਨਿਕ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦ ਕਰਾਵੈ॥ ਭੂਮਿ ਦਾਨ ਸੋਭਾ ਮੰਡਪਿ ਪਾਵੈ॥ ਅਪਨਾ ਬਿਗਾਰਿ ਬਿਰਾਂਨਾ ਸਾਂਢੈ॥ ਕਰੈ ਨਿੰਦ ਬਹੁ ਜੋਨੀ ਹਾਂਢੈ॥ ੩॥ ਨਿੰਦਾ ਕਹਾ ਕਰਹੁ ਸੰਸਾਰਾ॥ ਨਿੰਦਕ ਕਾ ਪਰਗਟਿ ਪਾਹਾਰਾ॥ ਨਿੰਦਕੁ ਸੋਧਿ ਸਾਧਿ ਬੀਚਾਰਿਆ॥ ਕਹੁ ਰਵਿਦਾਸ ਪਾਪੀ ਨਰਕਿ ਸਿਧਾਰਿਆ॥ ੪॥ (ਪੰਨਾ ੮੭੫)
ਅਰਥ:- ਸਾਧੂ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਦੀ ਨਿੰਦਾ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ (ਜਗਤ ਦੀਆਂ ਨਿਵਾਣਾਂ ਵਿਚੋਂ) ਪਾਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਲੰਘ ਸਕਦਾ, ਯਕੀਨ ਨਾਲ ਜਾਣੋ ਉਹ ਸਦਾ ਨਰਕ ਵਿੱਚ ਹੀ ਪਿਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ। ੧। ਰਹਾਉ। ਜੇ ਕੋਈ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਅਠਾਹਠ ਤੀਰਥਾਂ ਦਾ ਇਸ਼ਨਾਨ (ਭੀ) ਕਰੇ, ਜੇ ਬਾਰਾਂ ਸ਼ਿਵਲਿੰਗਾਂ ਦੀ ਪੂਜਾ ਭੀ ਕਰੇ, ਜੇ (ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦੇ ਭਲੇ ਲਈ) ਖੂਹ ਤਲਾਬ (ਆਦਿਕ) ਲਵਾਏ; ਪਰ ਜੇ ਉਹ (ਗੁਰਮੁਖਾਂ ਦੀ ਨਿੰਦਿਆ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਤਾਂ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਇਹ ਸਾਰੀ ਮਿਹਨਤ ਵਿਅਰਥ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ। ੧। ਜੇ ਕੋਈ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਕੁਲਖੇਤ੍ਰ ਤੇ (ਜਾ ਕੇ) ਗ੍ਰਹਿਣ (ਦਾ ਇਸ਼ਨਾਨ) ਕਰੇ, ਗਹਿਣਿਆਂ ਸਮੇਤ ਆਪਣੀ ਵਹੁਟੀ (ਬ੍ਰਾਹਮਣ ਨੂੰ) ਦਾਨ ਕਰ ਦੇਵੇ, ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਸਿਮ੍ਰਿਤੀਆਂ ਧਿਆਨ ਨਾਲ ਸੁਣਾ; ਪਰ ਜੇ ਉਹ ਭਲਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਨਿੰਦਿਆ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਤਾਂ ਇਹਨਾਂ ਸਾਰੇ ਕੰਮਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਕੋਈ ਲਾਭ ਨਹੀਂ। ੨। ਜੇ ਕੋਈ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਠਾਕਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਕਈ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਭੋਗ ਲਵਾਵੇ, ਜ਼ਮੀਨ ਦਾ ਦਾਨ ਕਰੇ (ਜਿਸ ਕਰਕੇ) ਜਗਤ ਵਿੱਚ ਸ਼ੋਭਾ ਖੱਟ ਲਏ, ਜੇ ਆਪਣਾ ਨੁਕਸਾਨ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਭੀ ਦੂਜਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਕੰਮ ਸਵਾਰੇ, ਤਾਂ ਭੀ ਜੇ ਉਹ ਭਲਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਨਿੰਦਿਆ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ਤਾਂ ਕਈ ਜੂਨਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਭਟਕਦਾ ਹੈ। ੩। ਹੇ ਦੁਨੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਲੋਕੋ! ਤੁਸੀਂ (ਸੰਤਾਂ ਦੀ) ਨਿੰਦਿਆਂ ਕਿਉਂ ਕਰਦੋ ਹੋ? (ਭਾਵੇਂ ਬਾਹਰੋਂ ਕਈ ਧਾਰਮਿਕ ਕੰਮ ਕਰੇ, ਪਰ ਜੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਸੰਤ ਦੀ ਨਿੰਦਾ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ਤਾਂ ਸਾਰੇ ਧਾਰਮਿਕ ਕੰਮ ਇੱਕ ਠੱਗੀ ਹੀ ਹੈ, ਤੇ) ਨਿੰਦਕ ਦੀ ਇਹ ਠੱਗੀ ਦੀ ਦੁਕਾਨ ਉੱਘੜ ਪੈਂਦੀ ਹੈ। ਹੇ ਰਵਿਦਾਸ! ਆਖ-ਅਸਾਂ ਚੰਗੀ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਵਿਚਾਰ ਕੇ ਵੇਖ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਸੰਤ ਦਾ ਨਿੰਦਕ ਕੁਕਰਮੀ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਨਰਕ ਵਿੱਚ ਪਿਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ। ੪।
ਭਾਈ ਗੁਰਦਾਸ ਜੀ ਨਿੰਦਕ ਸਬੰਧੀ ਚਰਚਾ ਕਰਦਿਆਂ ਹੋਇਆਂ ਇੱਥੋਂ ਤੱਕ ਕਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਆਪਣੀ ਜੜ ਨੂੰ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਪੁੱਟ ਸੁੱਟਦਾ ਹੈ:
ਕੁਤਾ ਰਾਜਿ ਬਹਾਲੀਐ ਫਿਰਿ ਚਕੀ ਚਟੈ॥ ਸਪੈ ਦੁਧੁ ਪੀਆਲੀਐ ਵਿਹੁ ਮੁਖਹੁ ਸਟੈ॥ ਪਥਰੁ ਪਾਣੀ ਰਖੀਐ ਮਨਿ ਹਠੁ ਨ ਘਟੈ॥ ਚੋਆ ਚੰਦਨੁ ਪਰਹਰੈ ਖਰੁ ਖੇਹ ਪਲਟੈ॥ ਤਿਉ ਨਿੰਦਕ ਪਰ ਨਿੰਦਹੂ ਹਥਿ ਮੂਲਿ ਨ ਹਟੈ॥ ਆਪਣ ਹਥੀਂ ਆਪਣੀ ਜੜ ਆਪਿ ਉਪਟੈ॥ (ਵਾਰ ੩੫, ਪਉੜੀ ੧)
