Mi Music

Mi Music, which competes with the likes of Google Play Music, comes with a Dynamic Lyrics feature for karaoke enthusiasts. “Now, sing along with lyrics of your favourite track or jump onto your favourite part of the song with just one click,” said the company in a tweet.

As with Google Play Music, Mi Music will allow users to stream music from Hungama as well as play downloaded music on the device. The home screen will feature music from different albums, similar to its PatchWall OS that runs on its smart TVs. The application will get new features such as music videos, personalised recommendations, themes and more tracks in coming months.

Xiaomi claims that Mi Music is one of the most used applications by Mi users. The application has seven million daily active users, said Xiaomi VP Manu Kumar Jain in a tweet

The application allows users to cast content to any smart TVthrough DLNA and Miracast wireless technologies. It also supports Picture in Picture mode, which essentially allows users to watch videos on the Mi Video app and use other application at the same time. The application supports 15 Indian languages and comes with personalised recommendations.

Just like Mi Music, Xiaomi’s video platform has the option to play downloaded videos on the device. It also has an enhanced player for seamless user experience. It has quick gestures - play seek, toggle volume and brightness among others. A stable version of the application will be rolled out in the second week of this month. The application also gives users the option to control the playback speed.
