T he Catholic Secular Forum (CSF) has objected to an A R Rahman song ‘Hosanna’ in the upcoming film ‘Ek Deewana Tha’ saying that it hurt Christian and Jewish sentiments.

Mangalore: The Catholic-Christian Secular Forum (CSF) has taken strong exception to A R Rahman’s song Hosanna in the film Ekk Deewana Tha, scheduled for release on February 17.
The forum wants the song withdrawn and warns that it will launch an agitation if its demand isn’t met. The CSF has demanded an apology, saying the song has hurt not only Christian but also Jewish sentiments (Hosanna is a prayer for both communities).
CSF general secretary Joseph Dias said, “We aren’t going into the lyrics or vulgar picturisation of the song which are also objectionable. But we’d like to point out that Hosannais a prayer in the Bible and sacred to both Jews and Christians, referring to God or Jesus Christ...”
Dias told TOI if the forum didn’t receive any response from the filmmaker and others within two days, it would approach the police and court.
