Xolo has announced that it will soon be launching its latest phone, the Q700, in India. The handset is set to be one of the most affordable quad-core handsets in the market with rumours flying around of a price tag of Rs 9,999. The handset is already available at online shopping websites such as Flipkart, but there doesn't seem to be any mention of a price or launch date.

The phone is set to come out by the end of the week. We spoke to a representative from Xolo but were unable to get an exact launch date or pricing for the handset.

With that price tag, the Xolo Q700 is bound to become one of the most affordable quad-core handsets in the market

The handset will also be the first one from Xolo to run on Android 4.2 Jelly Bean out of the box. It will be powered by a 1.2GHz quad-core processor with SGX544 graphics chip from PowerVR. It will have 1GB of RAM to keep multitasking smooth.

The Xolo Q700 sports a 4.5-inch qHD IPS display. Keeping it alive is a 2400 mAh battery with a quoted talk time of 17 hours and 380 hours of standby time on 2G, and 16 hours of talk time and 350 hours of standby time on 3G.

For photographers, the handset is equipped with a 5 megapixel camera on the back and a 0.3 megapixel camera on the front. Connectivity options include the standard Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and 3G capabilities. The handset will be available in brown and blue colours, which is rather odd considering the trend of offering handsets in black and white colours.
