Acer plans to launch a thin and light notebook dubbed as Aspire 3951, which is similar the MacBook Air manufactured by Apple. The Acer Aspire 3951 is 13 mm in thickness and weighs at just 1.4 kg.
The notebook is powered by Intel’s Core i Sandy Bridge processor and it comes with the option of 160 GB solid state drive along with hard drive options of 250 GB and 500 GB. It is also rumored that the notebook will wake from its sleeping mode in just 1.7 seconds.
It is also noticeable that Acer has shrunk the arrow keys on its keyboard to have larger room for the larger right Shift key. The touchpad of the Aspire 3951 is likely to be the Synaptics’ ClickPad .
The standard runtime for the notebook is expected to be of about 6 hours and for connectivity, one has to make use of the HDMI and USB ports and also the memory card reader that are placed at the back unlike other notebooks which sport them rather at the sides. Besides Bluetooth 4.0, the ultrabook also has a webcam that is HD-capable.
The Acer Aspire 3951 is expected to be released in October and the pricing is also thought to be around $700 to $960.
