Leaked Galaxy Tab specs disappoint

We’ve known for at least a couple months that Samsung would soon be launching an Android-powered tablet called the Galaxy tab, with both a 7-inch and 10-inch model rumored for launch later this year.
So will it be an iPad-killer? If recently leaked specs coming from a firmware release are to be trusted, no, Virginia, it won’t… and it all comes down to the display.
You know how when the iPhone 4 came out and you saw the Retina Display for the first time, the iPad’s standard 1024×768 display looked low resolution? Double down on that for the Samsung Tab. According to the specs, the 7-inch version of the tablet will max out at a measly 800 x 480 resolution… the exact same resolution as the four-inch Galaxy S smartphone that is its little brother.
The camera also appears to be pretty chintzy: 3.1MP, with a 320×240 pixel web cam. Yeesh.
Can these leaked specs be trusted? Not until Samsung calls it officially, but consider me and many other Android fans looking for an alternative to the iPad disappointed if this turns out to be true.
