The police personnel of Jammu and Kashmir Police Department, fighting day-night against the militancy in mountainous parts of this Himalayan region, have received threats from the Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT) outfit, who pasted posters and asked cops either to quit their jobs or get killed in Doda district. ''Letters were found pasted on the walls at various places in Doda belt threatening cops: quit your jobs by 20th or get killed,'' sources told UNI adding that no specific month was mentioned on the posters.

The threats however, have been issued in the name of Lashkar district commander Gul Mohammad, sources added.

Jammu and Kashmir Director General of Police, Kuldeep Khoda yesterday at a press conference said, ''threats are routine matter and it would not demoralise J&K Police by any mean.'' State police would continue with anti-militancy operations without worrying about threats,'' the police chief added.
He, however, said that the Lashkar outfit has suffered heavy losses recently as in one year, eight top commanders were eliminated by the security forces in Doda and Kishtwar districts.
