Welcome to the live coverage of the first Test match of the series at Lords, London

The pitch looks absolutely great, there is an even cover of grass and after all the rain in month of June, the ground staff have done a phenomenal job of preparing a very good track. The side winning the toss would bat in all probability.

The sun is out and the ball is not expected to swing much as there are hardly any clouds in the sky.

THE BAD NEWS IF YOU ARE AN INDIAN SUPPORTER IS THAT England have won the toss and decided to bat first.

and you need not to worry, as i can't see a result in this match as there is so much rain around, and sachin tendulkar, who has not scored more than 31 on this HOME OF CRICKET ground, may not even get to bat,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

whiles the fast bowlers were being cleaned up by england, rahul dravid brought on ganguly,,, and success for india, because ganguly took a wicket with his third ball,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

Michael Vaughan walks out next

14.4Ganguly to Cook, OUT, gone! Ganguly strikes! First blood for India! Cook gets into his shot too early, to one right in front of the stumps, and plays over it as the ball angles across him, it pitches and hits him in line in front of about off stump, and after brief moment Steve Bucknor nods his head

well india got some self respect back in the interrupted by bad light play after tea, taking 3 wickets

63.6Kumble to Strauss, OUT, caught, Strauss comes down the track to a slider from Kumble,

he gets beaten by the length and lunges forward at it,
the ball takes the outside edge and flies through to Dravid who takes
a comfortable catch at first slip, that's his 150th catch in Tests

AJ Strauss c Dravid b Kumble 96 (256m 186b 16x4 0x6) SR: 51.61

Finally India have a wicket. Strauss falls on 96. He still hasn't made a century in over a year. Bad luck

76.4Singh to Vaughan, OUT, edged and gone! Just like that!
Against the run of play, just as the sun comes out, Vaughan drives loosely
at a slow cutter outside off stump and Dhoni happily accepts
the regulation edge...and doesnt RP Singh love it?

77.6Kumble to Collingwood, OUT, oh ho ho, the googly gets 'em!
Kumble's turning it on, that was a top class googly that Collingwood failed to read,
padding forward and getting caught plumb in front of middle stump,
not the way you want to be facing this bowler

PD Collingwood lbw b Kumble 0 (5m 3b 0x4 0x6) SR: 0.00
