Hold dharma to trounce the wicked, that's Navratri

Navratri doesn't and can't have a weird secular proposition. It means be, just be, humane, be firm on your Hinduness. It's Goddess Durga's festival, that must make all Hindus to have a pride in their faith and get spiritual power to ensure victory over the evil. This day must instil fear in the hearts of all those cowards who are targeting our nation, specially the Hindus, for the last three decades and have made them leave their home and hearth from Kashmir valley. We shall end this dark period of becoming refugees in our own motherland and have the flag of justice and fairness fluttering high. That's what Ma Durga tells us to do. The wishy washy "I am for all religions and I am universal" blah blah is all that phoney glib talk that fence sitters love to make but that takes them nowhere. They are like runaway boat people, adrift and at the mercy of the sea-winds.

The worshippers of Durga must be able to create their own wave, a wave to uphold human values.

Hindus must be the only people on this earth who are embarrassed to be a majority in Hindustan. We feel apologetic that we are a majority and hence try to do everything that will make the non-Hindus happier than we are. We alone are asked a million times to prove our true secular colours, and we try bending over backwards, we love to be faithless, we love gods and goddesses be put at a lower place than our secular obligations, we are reformists, while the other faiths are encouraged and applauded for being blindly pursuing the age old, fossilized, rituals. Someone even suggested if we could support the demand to make a toilet at Ramjanmabhoomi. They can do this to Hindus alone. Can they, even meekly suggest the same to other faiths?

Navratri means to be fair to all, but never pardon the unrepentant wicked. We celebrate Puja not because Durga pardoned Mahishasura. We celebrate Dussehra not because Rama observed a silence on the wicked deeds of Ravana and returned to Ayodhya without Sita.

If we feel ashamed that Mahishasura was trounced, stop celebrating Puja.

God forbid, even if five non-Hindus are made to leave their home and hearth and are forced to convert in any state of India, what turmoil will it invite? Front-page editorials, disruptions in Parliament, human rights organizations going to Washington to Uncle America and petitioning the UN? No, no, not just that, the top courts would be shaken up to shake up the conscience of the secular nation, till immediately the exiled five are brought back home safe and secured.

More than five lakh Hindustanis, believers in the Constitution and the devotees to the sanctity of our tricolour, who happened to be Hindus, are exiled forcibly from Kashmir. It's more than twenty years now.

You talk of secularism? Which secular leader swears to ensure they will be back home, soon, safely and happily? Every one of us has failed them. Why? Just because we the worshippers of Durga have converted to a wicked interpretation of secularism that must make us keep a distance from our Hinduness, that must make us insensitive and apologetic to the pains, sorrows of our own kith and kin.

Should being a good Hindu mean being anti-minority or should that be a guarantee of equal rights and privileges on non-Hindus as well? Unlike what we see in Pakistan, Bangladesh, Saudi Arabia, we the Hindus, the majority of this land ensured not just equal rights, but in many cases more rights than what we get, for the non-Hindus and no complaints, no grudges, no sense of obliging anyone on that. They are after all us, our blood and same race and of same ancestry.

It took two hundred years for a great, democratic, Lincoln’s America to elect a half black President, that too had to be a Christian.

We, the majority Hindus of this land, worshippers of Durga never ever tried to impose that kind of a regulation. Be faithful to India, we don’t care what faith or denomination or colour or race you wear. Should that be our strength or weakness? Should the Hindus be punished and taken for granted for having this outlook to life and the national matters or be praised?

If it is a matter of pride and a normal political behaviour to demand special courts for Muslim convicts and write letters to CMs to see Muslims are treated fairly, why should it not be a good, beneficial political action to do the same, demand the same for Hindu convicts?

The first copies of the Indian constitution were decorated with beautiful pictures of Rama, Krishna, and Gurus. Can we have the same repeated now? No. Why?

The biggest international airport in Thailand is named Suvarnabhumi and shows a grand statue of Sagar Manthan with Shiva, Vishnu, Devas and Asuras proudly. Can we have a Ganapathi at airports in India? No. Why?

Navratri means be fair, follow human values of pluralism and appreciate the differences but also be firm on your faith and have the power to ensure victory over the wicked. Happy Navratri to all Indians.

author is stupid enough to compare india with SA , pakistan , thailand.
indian constitution is a democratic constitution and it is bound to be secular to keep the trust of the MINORITIES who played more n better role than the MAJORITY in achieving independence.
MOREOVER modern day india was united by the british

^^ a) he isnt comparing India to other countries but giving an example, he is saying the majority of the land i.e. Hindu do not have equal rights
b) Says who minorities played a larger role in getting our independence??

Lets face it , British left India as it was no longer financially viable for them to be here. The British made an offer of Dominion status to India in 1942 in return for full co-operation during second world war and for political reason i.e the world was turning hostile towards them

a) giving examples from and of same set is called comparison

b) you have to find the list for the prisoners of kaala pani ...Moreover most of the minority fighters fought for HIND while over rated people like jhansi ki rani struggled for her own throne and sake ...i dont know what role did she playe in "OUR" independence

you are correct with how british left india ... assuming "no longer financially viable for them" would mean too many people are doing too many anti state activities which government could not afford to stop ...that is exactly how revolutions work passively

BY "Hindu do not have equal rights" i assume you mean that killing a person (who belong to a minority) for hijacking air plane , while making Bholanath and Devendra Pandey .. MLAs for doing the same ?

PAURI

At first the Lord created the double-edged sword and then He created the whole world.
He created Brahma, Vishnu and Shiva and then created the play of Nature.
He created the oceans, mountains and the earth made the sky stable without columns.
He created the demons and gods and caused strife between them.
O Lord! By creating Durga, Thou hast caused the destruction of demons.
Rama received power from Thee and he killed Ravana with arrows.
Krishna received power from Thee and he threw down Kansa by catching his hair.
The great sages and gods, even practising great austerities for several ages;
None could know Thy end.2.
The saintly Satyuga (the age of Truth) passed away and the Treta age of semi-righteousness came.
The discord danced over all the heads and Kal and Narad sounded their tabor.
Mahishasura and Sumbh were created for removing the pride of the gods.
They conquered the gods and ruled over the three worlds.
He was called a great hero and had a canopy moving over his head.
Indra was turned out of his kingdom and he looked towards the Kailash mountain.
Frightened by the demons, the element of fear grew enormously in his heart;
He came, therefore to Durga.3.

One day Durga came for a bath.
Indra related to her the story agony:
“The demons have seized from us our kingdom.
“They have proclaimed their authority over all the three worlds.
“They have played musical instruments in their rejoicings in Amaravati, the city of gods.
“All the demons have caused the flight of the gods.
“None hath gone and conquered Mahikha, the demon.
“O goddess Durga, I have come under Thy refuge.”4.
Listening to these words (of Indra), Durga laughed heartily.
She sent for that lion, who was she devourer of demons.
She said to gods, “Do not worry mother any more.”
For killing the demons, the great mother exhibited great fury.5.
