Gold snaps its two-day gain

Gold prices snapped its two-day gains and dropped by Rs 70 per ten grams to Rs 13,325 on the bullion market here on Monday on fresh stockists offerings on the back of fall in overseas markets.

Gold prices slipped by one per cent in London as oil dropped and the Euro extended losses against the dollar, while physical demand was seen softening.

Gold was trading at $844.60 an ounce down from 853.60 in New York late on Friday.

Turning to the local market, standard gold (99.5 purity) moved down by Rs 70 per ten grams to Rs 13,325 from the last weekend's level of Rs 13,395.

Pure gold (99.9 purity) also fell to Rs 13,385 from Rs 13,455.

However, silver ready (.999 fineness) closed unchanged at Rs 18,545.
