it is true that govt earns a lot from it, but govt. can come up with some other source of income may be industrialization (punjab is not ruled by commie gvt).
Money matter is not the only responsibility of govt., but health, and regulation of food and drug is also their responsibility.

The problem is vast and has taken a gigantic shape, gvt is the only powerful body with enough resources to take care of this. Small scale societies or individuals can't change much.

Govt cannot totally ban it...that is why its taxed heavily. Government can only jack the price up and hope it acts as a detterant. The thing that is wrong is how alcohol is used to gain votes though.

surprisingly, sarra punjab enna di kartuta jaanda fer v ehna nu vote pai jaande, i guess its due to lack of credible opposition.

SGPC te taa enna di monopoly hogi hun. Simanjit Singh Mann imandaar siga ohnu thalle laa ta khardku dhirra ne, bachi khuchi ohde goddeya ch kirpan arr gi sansad ch jaan vele.

jerda sangharsh pella challeya si te sikh insurgency te aake khatam hoya, je oss de itihas te ek nazar feriye ta oh pella dharmik nahi c, oh punjabiyat based c. Either it was punjabi suba agitation or 1973 ASR, they were for more rights and betterment of punjab.
Due to punjab being sikh majority state, it was easier for central and state govt to dye it in color of religion, and they were successful and it eventually became the same.

There is little or no doubt it is easier to instigate and drag sikhs into fight.
