"Jannat 2" is an upcoming Bollywood crime thriller film and a sequel to the 2008 hit film, Jannat. The film is directed by Kunal Deshmukh, and produced by Mahesh Bhatt and Mukesh Bhatt. It features Emraan Hashmi, Randeep Hooda, Imran Zahid and Esha Gupta in lead roles.
Model-turned-actress Esha Gupta, who is set to make her Bollywood debut with Jannat 2, feels Emraan Hashmi presence in the film will make many flock to the cinemas.
Gupta, who will play a role opposite to Emraan, while speaking on his inclusion told the media that the film will definatley do pretty well at the box office because of Emraan’s popularity.
“It’s a Bhatt camp (Mukesh and Mahesh Bhatt) film. You know, the film is going to be amazing because of the music. Thanks to Pritam (Chakraborty), we have got amazing music already and the star already, you know, Emraan Hashmi! What else do you think is the USP of the film,” the 26-year-old said.
According to the earlier reports, the Sri Lankan beauty Jacqueline Fernandez was supposed to play the role in the film. However when Esha was asked about it, she simply replied by saying that she is lucky to have bagged the role.
“Yes, that’s what even I read that Jackie (Jacqueline) was supposed to do it (the film). But for some reason of hers or the director, it didn’t work out. As I say… whoever gets it, it’s their good luck,” said Esha who was crowned Miss India International in 2007.
Well, all said and done, it is fair to say that ‘Jannat 2’ will do well at the box office because anything which comes out of Bhatt’s camp is liked by the people. By making films like ‘Murder’, ‘Jannat’, ‘Footpath’ and ‘Gangster’ etc, they have really made a big name in the Indian filmmaking industry. So much so that today almost all the leading producers in the industry want to have a piece of him.
Nevertheless, only time will tell what response ‘Jannat 2’ will get from the audiences.
