Lyricist turned singer, Debi Makhsoospuri may be the next Punjabi superstar. Sharad Sharma, a businessman and producer hailing from Atlanta plans to launch 3 films with Debi, in next 5 years, all to be made in Punjabi.
The businessman hinted that he is looking for fresh faces for the projects and mentioned Debi as a choice for the film. "Debi seems to be the best right now in the Punjabi market", he said.
When asked about what he thinks about Harbhajan Mann or Gurdas Mann, he responded saying "I am looking for a fresh singer to be a cast in order to present a different story to the audience".
Sharad plans to meet and discuss the project wth Debi in early March with some of his crew. When asked about the name of the film, he said, "We will announce it officially once we have selected the full cast although the music of the film will be launched and released by TuneLabs."[/img]
