Passengers of a Blueline bus (route 944) were robbed of their cash and valuables in Mongolpuri area on Friday night. According to the police, the bus was heading towards Sultanpuri from the Central Bus Terminus. Robbers also attacked a few passengers who tried to resist their bid. A case of attempt to murder and robbery has been registered.

Said one of the passengers: "The bus was on the outskirts of Mongolpuri when five men armed with knives and other sharp weapons boarded the it. As soon as the the vehicle reached a secluded spot, they looted the passengers." Unconfirmed reports suggest that when one person started shouting out of fear, they stabbed him. They then made him get off the bus. They fled a few minutes later. DCP (Outer), Sagarpreet Hooda, however, refused to comment on the robbery. "We have yet to ascertain the facts. We have sent special teams to the spot and have started investigating the case. We have drawn up a list of gangs active in the area and will check whether any of them were involved in the incident," he said.
