MUMBAI, Nov. 21 -- Actor Anil Kapoor's character Prem Kapoor in the 2008 Oscar winner, Slumdog Millionaire, was supposedly modelled on the KBC host. The role was offered to Shah Rukh Khan earlier but after he opted out, Kapoor grabbed it and went on to become a 'global' face.
If rumours are to believed after SRK's exit, Kapoor was supposedly one of the contenders to host KBC. Eventually, Amitabh Bachchan, the original host, returned to the game show in its fourth season after six years. Today, Kapoor takes the Hot Seat in KBC 4, as part of his promotional campaign for home production, No Problem that is lining up for a December 10 release. Co-stars, Sanjay Dutt and Kangna Ranaut, will follow Kapoor. Dutt had appeared in the opening episode of KBC 4 as an 'expert' guest. This time he will be taking questions from Bachchan.
