i saw copper cabinets, basically those were normal cabinets but upper layer was copper colored aluminium sheet instead of laminate.
it looked nice with dark colored granite counter tops and steel finish appliances, but one thing that came to my mind was that it needs really careful use and even a single scratch on it will glare like sore in the eye.
bcoz aluminium is really easy to scratch and cut and scratches are really visible on its surface.

I think if they are nicely designed they wont look tacky .. they have their pros and cons .. pro being u can clean them easily like wash it & no harm will come to it unlike wood. con is that cuz its just a thin patti of metal it can chip off easily & end up looking unkempt.
