A knife attacker struck at London’s Russell Square, killing one woman and injuring up to six people on Wednesday night.
Police responded to a distress call of man “seen in possession of a knife” in central London around 10:30 pm. The attacker was arrested and taken into custody.
The Metropolitan Police of London confirmed that six people had been injured in the attack, while one woman was killed. Though she was treated at the scene, she was pronounced dead a little while later.
A police statement said, “Terrorism is one possibility being explored at this stage.”
According to the statement, an arresting officer used stun gun while apprehending the suspect.
The area was secured thereafter.
