Prince Dance Group of Orissa daily wagers wins "Indias' Got Talent"

People in Orissa erupted into joy and celebtrations at the stroke of midnight today, as Prince Dance Group from Berhampur in the state created history by winning the "India's Got Talent" reality show hosted by Colors TV. Prince Dance Group remained the most favourite team to win the reality show from the very beginning. The group comprised by two polio-stricken guys and mostly labour class people, won millions of hearts across the globe.

The Prince Dance Group brought glory and laurel to the state and openeed a new chapter in Orissa's art and enternainment history. They were outstanding both in the semifinals and the grand finale. However, their final act of "Dashabatar" was just mind blowing and swept the crowd off their feet.

The Prince Dance Group was formed by 26-year-old Krishna REddy with the help of others in Ambapua in Berhampur. Most of the members are from the weaker section of the society. Padmanabha Sahu (24) and Telu Tarini (13) are polio-stricken and physically challenged.

The Prince Dance Group were never trained by anyone. Whatever they do and perform, they learnt it on their own.

Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has congratulated Prince Dance Group for winning the show. It has been a great moment for Prince Dance Group and people of Orissa, which will remain special forever

Prince Group soon to participate in an international event

Mumbai, Aug 23: Coming from a very remote place in Orissa never deterred the confidence of this 26-member Prince Dance Group, who were declared winner of a TV reality show 'India Got Talent...Hunar hi Winner hai' at the grand finale late last night.
Talking to UNI here leader of the group Krishna Mohan Reddy said he was confident to win the competition and had complete faith of people of Orissa and Lord Jagannath.

He also categorically mentioned the name of Orissa Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik and said, ''It is for him that we are here. He has supported us by all means and even has smsed or us.

We are really obliged.'' The 26-year-old Reddy alongwith his troop comprising labourers and one physically disabled, had performed a mesmerising act of 'Dashavatar', ten incarnations of Lord Vishu in the finals, that left the audience spell-bound.

''It is the team effort and our confidence that made us winner,'' he and added that their favuorite in the competition was a ballet group, that could not make to semi-finals, besides Mumbai-based 'Bappa Excel'.

Most of the members were painted in Silver while Krishna Reddy was in black to portray the role of Lord Krishna in their final act, which helped them bag the staggering Rs 50 lakhs cash award and a Maruti Suzuki Ritz car.

Reddy told UNI that he was planning to open a dance institute back home at Ambapua in Berhampur district and aslo wishes to give free dance lessons to underprivileged children.

An intermediate pass, Reddy aims to participate in an international event in the US and already has got an offer for the same,however, he refused to divulge more.

When asked from where he got the idea of formatting the dance, mostly in form of mythological plays, Reddy said he loved dancing and that the idea came instantly.

Prince Dance Group emerged as the winners from among 11 contestants across the country.

However, they surpassed music group Piyush Rajani And The Fine Tuners and Ujjain-based Yogesh Malviya and Group for the top slot.

Earlier, Krishna Reddy and his group has participated thrice in Sony's Boogie Woogie and also in various stage shows in several states.

Citing some of his memorable moments, Reddy said people in several rural areas often took him as real Lord Krishna, whose character he essays in most of his dance plays.

Filmmaker Shekhar Kapur and actors Sonali Bendre and Kirron Kher were the judges. Bollywood stars Shahid Kapoor and Rani Mukherji gave away the award to Prince Group.
