HISAR: A BEd student from Sirsa was allegedly attacked and seriously injured by her neighbour after she refused his marriage proposal the second time on Thursday.
The police registered a case under Section 307 of IPC against Sonu, a cottage flour mill owner, for hitting Alpana with a soft drink bottle on her head. The accused and his family are said to be absconding after the incident.
On Thursday, Sonu approached Alpana while she was having a stroll outside her house and proposed to her for the second time. On getting a negative response, he passed some comments on her to which Alpana retaliated. This made Sonu lose his temper and he hit her on the head with an empty soft drink bottle.
The victim was taken to the nearby hospital in an unconscious condition, from where she was referred to the Sarvodaya Hospital in Hisar.
After operating upon her, Dr Umesh Kalra told reporter, "She is still very serious and not out of danger."
