Al Ain: A father's attempt to rush his injured son to the hospital ended in double tragedy on Monday.

In his haste to take the boy, who was hit by a speeding car, to the hospital the Arab father jumped the red light and in the ensuing accident, the child and another motorist were killed, police said.
The 10-year-old boy was riding a bicycle near his home when he was hit by a car. The father gathered the injured boy and drove off to the hospital.

He did not stop at the red light at old Neyadat area, when another car driven by a 28 year-old Gulf national rammed into his car.

Police said the boy died on the spot after the second accident. The Gulf national also died on the spot.
The father suffered moderate injuries.
