TV actor Gagan Kang, who was recently seen in Sankatmochan Mahabali Hanuman and Arjit Lawania were killed in a road accident at Manor in Palghar.
Sources close to the actors informed us that both the young actors were traveling back Umbergaon from the shooting of their TV show Mahakali. They left at 8.30 pm from Umbergaon and while traveling back to Mumbai a trolley hit their car. Both the actors along with Arjit's spotboy, who was also with them in the car died in the accident. The mishap took place at 11:30 am today (August 19) at the Ahmadabad-Mumbai
Gagan and Arjit were close friends. Gagan played the role of Hanuman's father Kesari on Sony Entertainment Television's show Sankat Mochan Mahabali Hanuman. Gagan and Arjit were seen in Colors' TV show Mahakali. Gagan plays the role of God Indra, while Arjit played the character of Nandi on the mythological saga.
At around 11.15 am, when the car was on the Chillar Phata, near Hotel Mountain on the highway at Manor, Kang lost control of his vehicle. He went and crashed into the rear end of a stationery trailer parked alongside the road.
Eye-witnesses said that such was the impact of the crash that the car roof smashed into the trailer before turning reverse. When the car came to a halt it was facing towards Gujarat. The victims were killed on the spot. Police said that the driver of the trailer was detained but it has emerged that the trailer was correctly parked on the siding of the road. Police said that Kang was found dead on the driver's seat. Beer cans and snacks were found on the front and rear seats. Police said that the driver was over speeding as per the indications displayed on the car. Police said that they have not ruled out the possibility of drunken driving as beer cans were found in the vehicle.
Police said that they are awaiting autopsy report to determine if the driver was drunk. A case of accidental death has been registered. Police said that the cellphones of the victims were smashed in the accident. It took them a while to get hold of Kang's SIM card, following which his mother and brother were informed.
When contacted, the Executive Producer of the show confirmed the news.
Gagan played 'Lord Indra' while Arjit was seen in the role of 'Nandi' alongside Saurabh Raaj Jain who was playing 'Lord Shiva'. Both were good friends off-screen and their sudden death has come as a shock to all
