Dubai: Four people died on Friday in separate road accidents across Dubai in the space of seven hours, police said.
The first fatality occurred when a car ran over a pedestrian near the exit of Airport Tunnel shortly after midnight. Both the motorist and the pedestrian were not paying attention to the road and the motorist was speeding, police said.

The second death occurred at 4am when a car ran over a man at Al Ruwayya sandy area while reversing without paying attention.

Police said the third accident occurred when an Asian man was hit while crossing the main road in Al Qouz Industrial area at 6.10am.

The driver fled the scene and there is a police hunt on for him.

The last accident in the early hours of Friday occurred when a passenger died when the car he was travelling overturned on Dubai-Al Ain Road, just after the fifth bridge, at 8am. Police suspect the driver was drunk.
