Here's How:
1.
Click on the Windows 7Startbutton and then onControl Panel.
Tip:In a hurry? Typefolder optionsin the search box after clickingStart. ChooseFolder OptionsunderControl Panelfrom the list of results and then skip to Step 4.
2.
Click on theAppearance and Personalizationlink.
Note:If you're viewing theLarge iconsorSmall iconsview of Control Panel, you won't see this link. Simply click onFolder Optionsand proceed to Step 4.
3.
Click on theFolder Optionslink.
4.
Click on theViewtab in theFolder Optionswindow.
5.
In theAdvanced settings
rea, locate theHidden files and folderscategory.
Note:You should be able to see theHidden files and folderscategory at the bottom of theAdvanced settings:text area without scrolling down. You should also see two options under the folder.
6.
Choose theShow hidden files, folders, and drivesradio button under theHidden files and folderscategory.
7.
ClickOKat the bottom of theFolder Optionswindow.
8.
Close theControl Panelwindow that's still open.
9.
You will now be able to view all files and folders with the hidden attributeturned on, as well as drives hidden in Windows 7.
10.
You can test to see if hidden files are now being shown in Windows 7 by navigating to theC:\drive. If you see a folder namedProgramData, then you are now able to view hidden files and folders.
Note:You might notice that the icons for hidden files and folders are slightly grayed out. This is an easy way to separate hidden files and folders from your normal unhidden ones.
Tips:
1.
If you no longer wish to see them, you can always hide hidden files in Windows 7.
2.
