Punjab Health and Family Welfare Minister Luxmi Kanta Chawla today said that new Burn Units would be set up in 11 cities of Punjab.
Prof Chawla, while speaking at a function after laying the foundation stone of a Rs. 3.5 crore Burn Unit at Civil Hospital here, said that the capacity of this Burn Unit will be 30 bed. She said that while Rs 2 crore would be spent on the building, the remaining Rs 1.50 crore on purchase for machinery and equipment.
The Heath Minister further said that the Punjab Government has decided to provide free treatment to school students studying in Government and Government-aided schools, who are suffering from Cancer or Heart ailments, at PGI Chandigarh, DMC, CMC and Mohan Dai Oswal Cancer Hospital Ludhiana.
