MediaTek just announced Helio P25, its latest SoC in the Helio P series. It was unveiled in China back in September last year, is based on 16nm TSMC process technology and has MediaTek Imagiq Image Signal Processor (ISP) technology same has P20, but this has up to 13MP dual camera support optimized for Color + Mono de-noise as well as real-time shallow DoF bokeh and Video HDR with full preview.

It also has high performance auto exposure – Turbo 3A to accelerate AE convergence speed by 30-55%.

“MediaTek Helio P25 puts advanced camera effects at user fingertips, including shallow depth-of-field – typically associated more expensive lenses – and high performance auto exposure that lets users capture the highest quality images in any lighting scenario,” said the company.

It has Octa-core ARM Cortex-A53 processor clocked at up to 2.5GHz, slightly faster than 2.3GHz P20. Other specifications such as ARM Mali-T880 dual GPU clocked at up to 900MHz, Cat.6 LTE, up to 6GB LPDDR4x memory are same as P20.

Smartphones powered by MediaTek Helio P25 are expected to be available sometime in Q1 2017. Hope we can expect some announcements at the MWC 2017 later this month.
