Kalpa is a BEAUTIFUL small village with stunning views of Kinner-Kailash, sacred for both Hindus and Buddhists in Kinnaur. I took a room paying 4 times the normal (off-season) price after being told repeatedly that it is the last room available in the village, all the rest were filled to the brim with Bengali tourists. While taking a stroll through the village that evening and over the next few days, I thought half the population of West Bengal was vacationing in Kinnaur. Durga Puja Holidays are peak time for travel in Himachal and several other places in north India, Bengalis being such avid travellers.
