The Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) staged a walkout during the ongoing Budget Session of State Legislative Assembly, complaining that they were not given sufficient time by the Speaker Kuldeep Sharma to speak in the House.
Responding their complaint, Sharma said that the he had given 119 minutes to the INLD legislators in compare to 114 minutes to the ruling party while the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) was also given more than half-an-hour time to speak.
Earlier, the former Chief Minister and Leader of Opposition Om Prakash Chautala had also demanded to constitute a joint committee of all party legislators in the House to probe all the alleged irregularities had been committed during various land acquisitions and deals in the State since 1966.
The demand came after the legislators of the ruling Congress and Opposition got indulged in to allegations and arguments over an issue raised by the INLD State president Ashok Arora relating to a land allegedly sold by a Congress politician in Kurukshetra for unauthorised colony. Arora’s claim was strongly opposed by the Parliamentary Affairs Minister Randeep Singh Surjewala and later on Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda and Chautala started arguing on the matter of land acquisitions and the scams relating to these.
Afterward, Chautala sought the joint committee, comprising members from all parties according to the ratio of legislators in the house. But neither the Speaker nor the ruling party took the proposal seriously.
