November 10th - NEW DELHI -- The Federation of Western India Cine Workers (FWICE) went on strike late Friday, demanding better wages and working conditions from the Association of Motion Picture & TV Program Producers, the group's second such job action in as many months.
The strike has halted production of TV shows, which has led major broadcasters to resort to airing reruns of most entertainment shows from Monday.
FWICE -- which represents more than 150,000 actors, technicians and camera operators -- first went on strike in October, which brought both film and TV shoots to a halt, demanding better wages from AMPTVPP. But that strike was called off after two days when both parties said they had reached an agreement.

"The assurance we got from the producers about the money was never carried out. These demands aren't new -- we had approached producers three years ago," Mumbai-based FWICE president Dharmesh Tiwari was quoted as saying.
"The broadcasters have told AMPTVPP that it is not possible to increase production budgets especially in the present economic environment when advertising revenues are being affected. How long this strike will continue is anybody's guess and till such time all broadcasters have no choice but to resort to reruns," Star Plus executive vp Keerthan Adyanthaya told The Hollywood Reporter.

No new episodes will be aired on ANY of the Indian channels until the issue has been solved!
