Ferrari announces 599 HGTE limited edition for China, puts a one-off version on auction
Ferrari has announced a limited edition 599 HGTE package specifically made for the Chinese market, and a dozen of these cars will make their way to China soon. Based on the 599 Fiarano GTB, the HGTE package (Handling GT Evoluzione) package has been added to the car which runs on the GTB’s stock 6.0 liter V12 engine offering 620 hp and 608 Nm of torque.
The special edition has received the Chinese touch from artist Lu Hao, and has a two-tone color scheme. It has a “fire red” body and a gray roof, and Lu Hao has added a touch of Ge Kiln porcelain and the famed Silk Route, the ancient trade route connecting Europe and China. The artist has used the Chinese script “Xiao Zhuan” to make each of the cars more special with engravings on the name plaque, engine start button and rev counter done in the ancient script.
One of these models will be auctioned off as a one-of-a-king Ferrari. This one will be signed by Lu Hao himself, and other than the markings in the “Xiao Zhuan” script like the other cars, it will also have a cracked glaze pattern inspired by Ge Kiln porcelain.
