‘CAPT KANAWALJIT WILL BE REMEMBERED AS A SEASONED POLITICIAN’

Ludhiana March 31:

The tragic death of Punjab Cabinet Minister Capt Kanwaljit Singh, who died in a road accident near Kharar on Sunday, has been mourned by people across the society including political leaders, educational institutes and various other organisations.

Inderjit Singh Pardhan, president of the Chamber of Industrial and Commercial Undertakings and chairman of the Small Scale Industry Development Board, has expressed grief over the untimely and sudden demise of Capt Kanwaljit Singh.

General secretary Avtar Singh, on behalf of the management of the chamber, said Singh’s untimely demise was a great loss not only to the SAD but to the whole of Punjab. Condoling the minister’s death, the management, principal, staff and students of Guru Nanak Girls College, Model Town, expressed profound grief. The school management said he will be remembered as a seasoned politician and an able administrator for his contribution to different facets of the state and the nation.

The Guru Gobind Singh Study Circle also expressed anguish over the untimely death of the minister. A meeting was held under the chairmanship of principal Ram Singh, chief organisor of the study circle today. Meanwhile, offering condolences on the death of Capt Kanwaljit, Punjab Pradesh Congres Committee (PPCC) secretary Parminder Mehta demanded the state Government get his death investigated from some higher agency instead of an inquiry by the Patiala commissioner.
