According to Digitimes, Apple has at least two product updates slated for the second half of this year. The first will surprise no one: an iPod touch refresh. The second, an 11.6-inch MacBook Air, is a bit more surprising given Apple’s recent lack of a system this size and the company’s stance against netbooks.
To be fair, the 11.6-inch MacBook Air, as described by Digitimes would be more of a ultraportable than netbook. The report says to expect a computer that is both “slimmer and lighter” than the current MBA and powered by Intel’s Core i-series of ULV processors.
As for the iPod touch, the new model is said to be getting a 3MP camera (with still image and video capture) and Apple’s A4 SoC. This would, for the most part, catch the touch up with the iPhone 4 and give it both comparable speed and power. The report says the new iPod touch will arrive in August or September.
