PETROL PUMP LOOTERS' GANG BUSTED

Police here have busted a gang of robbers by arresting five of its members, including its gang leader, who were looting petrol pumps at gun point. and in the current month only had struck four pumps. SP (Hq) Satinder Singh addressing a press conference here said that Phillaur police had nabbed the accused while they were travelling by a car.
He said on the intervening night of July 15 and 16 the robbers had struck two petrol pumps at Apra and at Mansoorwal villages and had looted Rs 50,000 and four mobile phones on gun-point. On the night of July 6, they had looted Rs 15,000 and a mobile phone and on July 11 they decamped with Rs 35,000 from a petrol pump at Mudhan village near Nakodar.
The SP said that gang leader Kulwinder Singh alias Sonu was having over 25 cases of dacoity, drug peddling, attempt to murder etc. registered in his name in states of Punjab, Haryana, HP, Rajasthan and UP. He was previously a member of gangs of two notorious criminals, Paramjit Singh Pamma and Dharminder Singh Bhinda.
The other arrested robbers include Mandeep Singh and Jinder Pal of Bajuha Khurd village and Parminder Singh of Jago Sangha village. Police have also recovered a country-made pistol and five cartridges along with a booty of Rs 26,000 from them.
