Haryana Pradesh Congress Committee (HPCC) chief Ashok Tanwar has said disciplinary action will be taken against workers who created ruckus at the party workers’ meeting held at the PWD rest house here yesterday.
Tanwar accompanied by former minister Capt Ajay Yadav was interacting with mediapersons on the sidelines of an inaugural ceremony of the new building of the Maharaja Ravidass Bhawan here today. He said indiscipline in the party would not be tolerated in any condition.
“The Congress is known as a disciplined party but some indisciplined workers have tried to tarnish its dignity by indulging in violence. Hence we have decided to get the incident inquired for taking disciplinary action against the guilty ones,” the Haryana Pradesh Congress Committee chief added.
Notably, supporters of former Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda and former minister Capt Ajay Yadav clashed with each other when Sanjay Rao, a Hooda supporter, started delivering his speech during the workers’ meet.
The supporters not only raised slogans in favour of their leaders but also indulged in scuffle in the presence of Hooda and Yadav at the meeting. Both the leaders had to intervene to pacify their supporters.
In reply to a question, the Haryana Pradesh Congress Committee chief claimed that the panchayat elections would expose the ground reality of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government in the state.
Capt Yadav alleged that the Bharatiya Janata Party government had not succeeded to fulfil even a single promise which it had made during the Assembly polls.
