BATALA POLICE CRACK ROBBERY CASE

Amritsar June 11:
Four arrested for looting Rs 3.5 lakh from farmer The Batala police claimed to have cracked a week-old case of a robbery with the arrest of four criminals. The four, who are reportedly members of an extortion-gang operating in the area, had robbed a farmer, Sandeep Singh, of Rs 3.5 lakh.
Batala SSP Naresh Arora said,”Rs 3.01 lakh, a revolver and two motor bikes have been recovered from the accused.” The arrested include Amritpal Singh, a resident of Chathe; Rajbir Singh, alias Dhola, a resident of Ram Bagh, Amritsar; Parminder Singh, alias Pretty, a resident of Rajdhan village and Gurinder Pal Singh, alias Gholla, a resident of Jaania village near Jandiala.
Amritpal, who works as a sale-purchase agent, knew that Sandeep had taken a loan from a private bank and had gone to withdraw the money, when he hatched the conspiracy with the other three. “A special investigation team headed by SP (Headquarters) was formed to solve the case. Amritpal was arrested on the basis of his suspicious movement and he revealed the names of the other gang members during investigation,’’ said the SSP.
