ZTE presents Light – an Android 2.1 based 7-inch tablet

Here it is – another Android powered tablet, this time from ZTE. Light has a lot in common with the Samsung Galaxy Tab – it has a 7-inch WVGA display, 3G with HSPA support, Wi-Fi, GPS and 3 megapixel camera.

There is still no word on the processor inside it, but the Light will pack 512MB RAM and 512MB ROM plus a microSD expansion slot. The rest of the specs include voice calling over the 3G network, Bluetooth, digital compass, accelerometer, FM radio and a 3.5mm audio jack. Oh, and it weighs 408 grams, which might suggest a more solid body (perhaps metallic) than the Galaxy Tab.

ZTE Light will run on Android 2.1 Eclair, but there is no information if it will be upgradable to Froyo or upcoming Gingerbread.

Pricing and availability are yet to be announced.
