An 18-year-old boy was stabbed to death by four youths at the Sector 25 market this evening. The entire incident has been caught on CCTV cameras installed at nearby shops.
According to the police, the victim has been identified as Vikas, a resident of Sector 25. The victim was standing in the market with his friends. As soon as he left with his friends on a scooter, four youths came from the rear side and started hitting him with a baseball bat.
The victim was also stabbed on his back.
He tried to flee. However, the assailants chased him and again thrashed him.
The assailants then fled from the spot, leaving the victim behind in a pool of blood. Eyewitnesses informed the police about the incident.
The injured was rushed to the hospital, where he was declared brought dead.
Navdeep Singh Brar, SP (City), said the victim had enmity with the assailants, who had been identified.
The victim’s father works as a sweeper at the PGI.
The body has been kept at the mortuary. Raids are being conducted to nab the assailants. A case of murder has been registered at the Sector 11 police station.
