The Yahoo! Mail application for Android users is now available with some updated features, according to a featured changelog in Google Play store. The recently updated app features reworked notifications that work based on user feedback. Moreover, the notification icon has been replaced with a distinct icon, following user feedback. The app icon has been fixed for older devices too. Yahoo! has addressed the issue of crashes on the app.The cut and paste function too has been fixed on most devices. Besides these featured changes, Yahoo! claims to be looking into issues like push notification stability. They are also looking into missing actions on items in spam, outbox and draft folders. Folks at Yahoo! are also looking into the issue of users being unable to zoom on older devices.

The Yahoo! Mail application for Android devices is currently in version 2.0.4, and is available for download on the Google Play store. To be able to use the app, Android users will require devices running v2.2 and above. The Yahoo! Mail app for Android users now lets users stay connected, allowing them to access their inbox in just one tap. With notifications, users are quickly notified on new messages. With continuous scroll, users can scan through their new messages. The app features auto-complete to type email addresses quicker and with the multi-select option, users can organise their messages. The app also allows users to access their multiple email accounts in one place. They can attach photos and capture new ones while composing a message. They can preview their photos right at the top of a message. They can search through all their messages, across all folders.

Yahoo!’s CEO Marissa Mayer recently stated on the official blog that the improvements to Yahoo! Mail will be available on all major platforms, which include Web, Windows 8, iPhone/ iPod touch and Android.

Mayer stated that the redesigned Yahoo! would allow users to get through their emails faster than before. They have also made the inbox more intuitive and easier to navigate, allowing a user to focus on the messages they receive. Yahoo! Mail now has a consistent look and feel across devices.The Yahoo! Mail app has also been released for iOS devices. In the description for iOS, Yahoo! states that the app allows a user to access the inbox with just one tap, receive automatic notifications for new messages and quickly scan messages in the inbox with continuous scroll.

Also, the app auto-completes email addresses as you type, and allows you to swipe left or right on any message to delete, flag, move, or mark it as read. You can multi-select messages to organise the inbox faster too. Users will also be able to easily attach photos or take new ones while composing a message, preview photos right at the top of a message and search through all messages across all folders. The size of the iOS app is 3.9 MB.
