Just two months back Yahoo! had acquired URL-shortener startup Bread, and it has now acquired yet another startup. Evntlive, a live concert streaming platform, revealed through its official site that it has been acquired by Yahoo!
While the financial terms of the deal are not disclosed, Yahoo! plans to shut down Evntlive’s services. The Evntlive team will be joining Yahoo!’s video team to work on latter’s products such as Screen and Music.

Evntlive that captures concerts and live performances on video and creates an interactive experience revealed on its official site, “When we started Evntlive in early 2012, we set out to change the way that fans engage with live music online by creating an interactive, virtual venue. Since launching our beta service in April 2013, we have live streamed hundreds of performances from amazing artists and festivals to fans all over the world.”
According to GigaOm, Redwood, California-based Evntlive raised a total of $2.3 million in funding, with investors including Vint Cerf, Yogen Dalal, Dave House and others. It was co-founded by former Cisco CTO Judy Estrin and has been a part of startups that are trying to reinvent live music events. All the acquisitions seem to be a part of the overall strategy of Marissa Mayer, CEO of Yahoo!, to help the Internet bounce back.
